A common misconception about the way I run my studio is that I am doing multiple sessions in one day. However – I pride myself on being a low volume photographer and actually typically only do one session a day. I have multiple reasons for doing this – the biggest one being able to give each client the best experience I possibly can. Being put on a timer doesn’t work well when working with little ones. By only scheduling one session a day I don’t need to rush a session, and I can work around baby’s nap schedule even if there’s a last minute change.
If you are curious about another reason I may have for typically only scheduling one session a day – another big one is that I spend way more time planning and editing a session than shooting it – so limiting the number of sessions I take lends to the ability for quick turnaround times and providing extra services like styling a session and designing wall galleries and albums. The fact is – there is a lot that goes in behind the scenes for a full service photographer.
