Let’s talk about one year sessions for a moment. One year sessions are the most popular milestone (after the newborn stage) to capture. Most sessions I do celebrating one year include some cake smashing. I love watching little ones poke, dig, and smear cake all over – however not every baby is a smasher. Unlike his big bro, Rhett, sweet Cole just wasn’t into it. We celebrated Rhett’s big one a few years ago and he went to town on his smash cake – fists full is icing and even feet stomping into the cake – there was barely anything left of that cake. Unfortunately, that is not how it went for Cole – and that’s okay. We still got a few captures of him with his cake – but that’s why I do smash cakes as an add-on. The focus should be ensuring we get images that highlight your little one at this stage – the smashing is the just the “icing on the cake”.

A little more about my studio… I have a full studio wardrobe, with of over 95 dresses for moms (size 2 – 24) from a variety of places, along with a collection of choices for babies, children, and shirts for men. Hair and makeup is also available by a local make-up artist that comes right to the studio. It’s the most amazing way for moms to treat themselves before a session to make your session as simple and stress free as possible.
