What do I consider an older newborns? Past 3 weeks. Meet Eleanor at 31 days. This sweet girls one month and rocked her newborn session. Yes, I love having newborns in the studio between 6-12 days – when your little newborn is still curled up and having longer sleepy periods. However, there are many reasons this doesn’t happen… and no matter the reason I still enjoy documenting older newborns. Most babies past one month are really getting out of the newborn phase – where they are more stretched out, and having more frequent and longer awake periods. That’s okay! My focus is always documenting a baby as they are right then. Everything I do is baby led – so if that means I need to adjust some posing to keep them comfortable, no big deal. It also can mean chubbier little cheeks and thighs – and who’s going to complain about that 😉
I’m so thankful you are checking out my work here at my website. A little more about my studio… I have a full studio wardrobe, with of over 95 dresses for moms (size 2 – 24) from a variety of places, along with a collection of choices for babies, children, and shirts for men. Hair and makeup is also available by a local make-up artist that comes right to the studio. It’s the most amazing way for moms to treat themselves before a session to make your session as simple and stress free as possible.
